My work has been awarded with several prizes and awards including the J.C. Ruigrok Award 2019, awarded by the Royal Dutch Society of Sciences and Humanities, and the Young Talent Prize 2018 from the Dutch Neuroscience Meeting. I won two best abstract awards. In 2015 I won the best PhD article award for the Department of Psychology at Leiden University. My blog 'Facebook depression' was the best read blog on www.leidenpsychologyblog.nl in 2013 and currently has over 105.000 hits.

Open Science
I am a proponent of Open Science. Whenever possible I share data, analysis scripts, tasks and presentations. Furthermore, I am an active participant in the discussion about policy and the transition towards Open Science. I published an opinion piece in De Volkskrant and I participate in discussions with different stakeholders such as Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), politicians, publishers and scientists.
